Rafidah Atan University Malaya Medical Centre

Dr Rafidah Atan is a Professor and Consultant Intensivist at University Malaya, Malaysia. She graduated from University Malaya in 1996 and completed Master of Anaesthesiology in University Malaya in 2003 and was conferred the K Pathmarajah Gold Medal. She was then attained her Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2006, Graduate Certificate in Clinical Simulation (GradCertClinSim), from Monash University in 2011 and European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) in 2012. Dr Rafidah is a simulation enthusiast and frequently conducts simulation workshops and gives lectures on this topic. Her experience in simulation combines well with her other passion, which is teaching patient safety to medical undergraduates and junior doctors. She also participates in clinical research in intensive care. Her PhD topic of research is on high cut-off hemofiltration in critically ill patients.
