Richard Loh Li Cher Loh Guan Lye Specialist Centre

Professor Richard Loh has recently retired from full time academic position in RSCI & UCD Malaysia Campus. He was the Vice-Dean for Research and Professor of Medicine and Head, Department of Medicine in RSCI & UCD Malaysia Campus in Penang, and earlier was Professor and Head of Medicine Department in International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia. He graduated from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and completed his higher specialist training in respiratory medicine in London and his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of London on asthma immunology and novel immunomodulatory approaches. Currently, he works part-time in RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus as Professor of Medicine and is also Adjunct Professor of Post-graduate Studies and Research in IMU, where he teaches and continue his research is on Asian COPD heterogeneity. He is a practicing chest physician and works part-time in Loh Guan Lye Specialist Centre, Penang. Professor Loh is a widely published investigator who lectures regularly in both national and international meetings. He held various positions in national professional bodies including The Malaysian Thoracic Society and College of Physician, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, and was the previous assembly head for the “Non-Tuberculosis” Infectious Disease group of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology and served for many years as editorial board member of Respirology.
