Jaya Muneswarao Ramadoo Hospital Pulau Pinang

Dr. Jaya Muneswarao is a pharmacist with a special interest in respiratory medicine. He obtained his PhD in clinical pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2021. Dr. Jaya is the current head of the Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic (MTAC), Hospital Pulau Pinang. He is the chairman of the Clinical Pharmacy Working Committee (Respiratory Subspecialty), Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Dr. Jaya is one of the authors of the Malaysian Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for Management of Asthma in Adults (2017) and an external reviewer for the CPG for Management of Tuberculosis (4th Edition, 2021). He is also a member of the Malaysian Thoracic Society (MTS) Inhaler Education and Training Steering Committee. Dr Jaya is a member of the MTS Severe Asthma Registry Steering Committee and an advisor for Asthma Malaysia (AM). Due to his research interest, he was appointed as an editorial member of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice (JOPPP) and guest editor for Antibiotics, an open excess journal by MDPI. He is also an invited reviewer for international journals such as Respiratory Medicine, International Journal of COPD, Patient Preference and Adherence, and Journal of Asthma. Dr. Jaya has presented his research at many conferences and won several awards such as the best oral presentation at the Malaysian Thoracic Society (MTS) Annual Congress (2016), 8th National Pharmacy R&D Conference (2014), and Kedah Pharmacy R&D Seminar (2014). His interests include asthma/COPD pharmacotherapy, pulmonary drug delivery, inhaler devices, tuberculosis, and patient-centered care programs.
